Award-Winning Method For Producing Multicolored Titanium Stamping Plates For Architectural Decoration

Recently, the "Method for preparing multicolored titanium stamping plates for architectural decoration" developed by the Baoji Titanium Industry Research Institute has been granted a national invention patent. It is reported that this invention has been widely applied in the Fujian-Min Taiwan Cultural and Creative Industry Park, where more than 6,000 square meters of architectural decorative exterior walls in five major venues have been adorned with golden titanium plates, creating another Chinese innovation and a world record.

Titanium has become popular in the field of architectural decoration, particularly in coastal areas with marine climates, due to its excellent corrosion resistance. Landmark buildings such as the National Grand Theater, Hangzhou Grand Theater, and Jiangsu Grand Theater have used titanium as exterior wall decoration material. However, all these domestic buildings invariably use titanium plates from Japan, primarily due to the consistency of flatness and surface glossiness of the plates. The inconsistent surface gloss of domestically produced plates leads to different reflections under sunlight, which adversely affects the overall effect of the buildings. At the same time, the buildings can only use the natural color of titanium, which also limits the use of titanium as a decorative material. In order to solve this problem, the Baoji Titanium Industry Research Institute has conducted extensive research on surface treatment, polishing, coloring, shaping, and nano anti-fingerprint technology for titanium materials, and has achieved significant research results.

In the bidding for the exterior walls of the Fujian-Min Taiwan Cultural and Creative Industry Park, the design proposed by the Baoji Titanium Industry Research Institute won the bid. The more than 6,000 square meters of architectural decorative exterior walls were made in the shape of bamboo joints using titanium plates. During the manufacturing and construction process, the Baoji Titanium Industry Research Institute used titanium coil strip, which was processed through surface brushing, polishing, and coloring to create a golden bamboo tube shape. The shape was then installed on the exterior walls of the buildings through on-site construction. The golden bamboo joints shine brilliantly in the sunlight, appearing noble and elegant, perfectly combining bamboo culture with titanium metal. This invention realizes the application of existing domestic titanium plates in the field of architectural decoration, solves the problems that have plagued the domestic use of titanium, and breaks the monopoly of Japan in the use of titanium for architectural decoration. It has significant significance.

It is reported that this invention by the Baoji Titanium Industry Research Institute has attracted attention from the domestic architectural field and several renowned designers. Some designers have started to incorporate "titanium elements" in their designs based on this invention. Some foreign yacht design institutes have also come to seek consultation on this technological achievement, hoping to apply it in yacht decoration.
