Titanium bar ASTM F136 Ti-6Al-4V Low Interstitial refers to a titanium alloy bar with the composition of Ti-6Al-4V, which contains 6% aluminum (Al) and 4% vanadium (V). and "Low Interstitial" indicates that this specific grade of Ti-6Al-4V has a reduced amount of interstitial elements, primarily oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon. Interstitial elements are small atoms that can occupy the spaces between the larger atoms in the crystal structure of the alloy, affecting its mechanical properties. By minimizing these interstitial elements, the alloy's strength and ductility can be enhanced, making it more suitable for critical applications that require high performance and reliability.

 

ASTM F136 covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for wrought annealed Ti-6Al-4V ELI (extra low interstitial) alloy (R56401). This standard is applicable for the manufacture of surgical implants, specifically bar-round bars, and flats ranging from 0.1875 in. (4.75mm) to 4.00 in. (101.60mm) in diameter or thickness.

4. Straightness: It can achieve 0.3‰-0.5‰; 5. Ultrasonic Testing (UT): 100% ultrasonic/eddy current testing is conducted to ensure that there are no metallurgical defects and non-metallic impurities on both the surface and the interior.
