Titanium Rods: Grades and Applications

Apr 18, 2024

The strength and performance of titanium rods depend on the material of titanium; the performance of titanium rods at different levels varies as follows:

Pure titanium rods: Gr.1 Gr.2 Gr.3 are considered pure titanium.

Gr.1 pure titanium rod: Compared with other metal rods, Gr.1 titanium rod is the softest and most ductile metal. Gr.1 titanium rod has strong formability and impact toughness. Widely used in chemical processing, construction, and automotive parts, the Gr.1 titanium rod is also used in the medical industry for surgical implants and devices.

Gr.2 pure titanium rod: Gr.2 is the most commonly chosen grade by customers. Compared with Gr.1, Gr.2 titanium has slightly higher strength and excellent weldability, strength, and ductility, making it a conventional choice for the industry.

Titanium alloy rods: Titanium alloy rods are formed by combining titanium with another metal to achieve higher strength. Combining the characteristics of titanium with other metals will provide a reliable metal with good quality.

Gr.5 titanium alloy rod: It is the most commonly chosen grade of titanium alloy rod. It has many advantages, so many customers choose it. The most significant feature of Gr.5 is its high strength and low weight, with corrosion resistance. Gr.5 titanium alloy rod is mainly used in aerospace, marine, medical, and chemical processing, as well as in the manufacture of aircraft turbines, engine components, and automotive parts.
