What are the achievements of China Baotai Group in titanium development and what are the future directions of their efforts?

Baoji City held the 2023 Baoji China Titanium Valley Advanced Structural Materials Industry Cluster (Titanium and Titanium Alloy Industry Chain) key project promotion and signing ceremony. Nearly 200 experts and scholars, as well as industry elites from more than 110 titanium industry institutions and companies from all over the country, gathered in Baoji to discuss "titanium" and its related matters. Hu Jincai, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and head of the Advanced Structural Materials Industry Cluster attended the project promotion and delivered a speech. Yang Guangting, the Mayor of the city, presided over the promotion meeting, and Ren Junen, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Baoji is the cradle of China's titanium industry. After more than 60 years of development, the city now has a titanium industry cluster that can produce more than 5,000 specifications of titanium and titanium alloy materials. It has 16 national-level research and development, testing, and other service platforms, as well as startup centers, incubation bases, titanium customer spaces, industry alliances, and titanium industry associations, forming a complete titanium industry collaborative innovation system. Baoji's titanium products and equipment have been applied to major national projects such as domestically produced aircraft carriers, C919 large passenger planes, deep-sea submersibles capable of reaching depths of 10,000 meters, and the Chang'e lunar exploration program. They are widely used in military and civilian fields such as aerospace, medical and health, and sports and leisure. In 2022, it achieved a production value of 51 billion yuan, known as China's "Titanium Valley" and designated as one of the first national advanced structural materials industry clusters.

Hu Jincai pointed out that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the city will focus on implementing eight major projects: the development of the industry cluster, extension, and enhancement of the industry chain, leadership of leading enterprises, cultivation of innovative resources, breakthroughs in key technologies, development of end products, consolidation and enhancement of the brand, and optimization of the service system. The city will further increase efforts in investment promotion, talent attraction, policy support, and service guarantee, and strive to create a first-class business environment. They aim to jointly expand the application of titanium, improve the quality of titanium, promote titanium upgrading, share the joy of titanium's success, and focus on improving the basic capabilities of the titanium industry and the modernization of the industry chain, ultimately building the "World Titanium Capital. China Titanium Valley."
