Significant Progress Achieved in Baoti Group's Aerospace-Grade Titanium Alloy Plate Production Line

On June 27th, exciting news surfaced from the construction project of the wide-width titanium alloy plate production line specifically designed for aerospace applications. The 1850mm four-roll reversible hot rolling mill unit conducted a TC4 alloy plate roughing test rolling, successfully reducing the 240mm thick alloy plate to a semi-finished product of 110mm thickness. The achievement marks a significant milestone in the construction of the wide-width titanium alloy plate production line for aerospace applications, indicating substantial progress
It is reported that the aerospace-grade wide-width titanium alloy plate production line is a provincial key project invested in and constructed by Baoti Group. The products are mainly used in the fields of national defense, aerospace, aviation, ships, and marine engineering, providing high-quality material support for national security as well as aviation and aerospace. The project started construction in 2021, and the project team has carefully organized and scientifically coordinated the construction process, placing safety as the foundation and quality as the core. They actively cooperated with on-site construction operations and process quality control and effectively addressed technical issues in civil construction and equipment installation. Regular progress coordination meetings were held to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, including the construction of the plant, power, and energy auxiliary construction, equipment foundation construction, internal and external network construction, and equipment installation.
The project achieved an official power supply on April 14, 2023. The entire production line was successfully connected on May 12. On June 9, they successfully rolled 9mm pure titanium plates. On June 25, they achieved roughing rolling of pure titanium, with each achievement reflecting the working style of "self-reliance and hard work." Particularly, on June 26, the roughing trial rolling of TA15 alloy was successful, followed by the successful roughing trial rolling of TC4 alloy on June 27. The successful trial rolling of these two alloy plates in one go not only signifies a new breakthrough in the project construction but also indicates that the first domestically developed 1850mm titanium alloy plate rolling hot mill unit with independent intellectual property rights has initially obtained production capacity, completely overcoming the long-term dependence on imported core technology for plate rolling production lines. In the next step, the project team will further optimize the control system based on the existing foundation and strive for new breakthroughs in the project's digital and information construction, making new contributions to the high-quality development of the company.
