Product use and characteristics
Titanium Tubes are primarily utilized in various applications, including the electronics industry, thermal exchange equipment, finned-tube heat exchangers, coil heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, and transport pipelines.
Titanium pipes exhibit excellent ductility.
The elongation of high-purity titanium pipes can reach 50-60%, and the cross-sectional shrinkage can be as high as 70-80%. Although the strength of high-purity titanium pipes is relatively low, the inclusion of small amounts of impurities and alloying elements significantly enhances their mechanical properties, allowing them to match the strength of high-strength materials. In industrial pure titanium pipes, the presence of minimal impurities and other metal impurities provides both high strength and adequate plasticity.
strong heat resistance and excellent low-temperature resistance
Titanium pipes demonstrate strong heat resistance, maintaining good strength and stability even in an atmosphere of 500°C.
Titanium pipes also exhibit excellent low-temperature resistance, retaining high impact strength even at ultra-low temperatures of -250°C, making them capable of withstanding high pressure and vibrations.
High strength (strength-to-weight ratio)
The specific strength (strength-to-weight ratio) of industrial pure titanium pipes is remarkably high among structural metal materials. Its strength is comparable to steel, while its weight is only 57% of that of steel.
Robust corrosion resistance
Titanium pipes possess robust corrosion resistance due to their high affinity for oxygen, leading to the formation of a dense oxide film on the surface. This protective layer shields titanium from corrosion by various media. Consequently, titanium exhibits superior stability in acidic, alkaline, neutral saltwater solutions, and oxidative environments, surpassing the corrosion resistance of existing stainless steels and other non-ferrous metals.
