Nickel-titanium shape memory alloy(Nitinol shape memory alloys) is a functional titanium alloy with a shape memory effect. The object is deformed by force at a certain temperature, and after removing the external force it still maintains the shape after deformation, but it can automatically recover to the original shape before deformation at a higher temperature, this phenomenon is known as the shape memory effect.
Titanium-nickel shape memory alloy titanium-nickel is an intermetallic compound of equal atomic ratio (Ti50Ni50), the practical alloy composition is Ti-(49-51)%Ni (atomic fraction). The titanium-nickel intermetallic compound is ductile and can be hot and cold worked, with a cold working rate of 10% to 25% and a recrystallization temperature of 500 to 600°C. Titanium-nickel alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in the high-temperature phase, good damping in the low-temperature phase, and peculiar memory properties and superelasticity in the phase change region. The physical properties, mechanical properties, and memory properties of titanium-nickel alloy are shown in Table 1 and Table 2, respectively. (AS is the beginning temperature of martensite reversal into the parent phase, and Af is the end temperature of martensite reversal into the parent phase).
