Today Is Qingming Festival. What Is The Origin Of Qingming Festival And What Does It Mean To Us Chinese People?
Apr 05, 2023
Today is Qingming Festival, and we would like to take this opportunity to introduce this traditional Chinese holiday and share some of the celebration activities organized by our company.
Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb Sweeping Day, is a day for Chinese people to pay respect to their ancestors and deceased loved ones. On this day, families usually go to cemeteries to clean and maintain the graves of their loved ones. This is a solemn holiday celebrated throughout China, and many people take a day off from work to participate in these activities. It has a history of more than 2500 years in China and is a moment to commemorate and honor ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. This holiday originated from the Cold Food Festival, where people in ancient China only ate cold food to mourn Jie Zitui, a loyal official who died for his king. Later, this holiday was combined with the traditional tomb-sweeping custom to become the Qingming Festival we celebrate today.
At our company, we understand the importance of this holiday, and we have organized some activities to honor our ancestors and loved ones. We will hold a memorial ceremony and burn incense to show respect to those who have passed away. In addition, we will participate in a tree-planting ceremony as a symbol of new life and growth. We will also take part in other activities such as walking in the countryside, having a picnic with family and friends, or flying kites. This is a moment for people to reflect on the past, appreciate nature, and cherish loved ones.
We know that for some of our international clients, this holiday may not be familiar, but we hope that by sharing its significance, you can gain a deeper understanding of our culture and traditions. We appreciate your continued cooperation and look forward to sharing more about our customs and celebrations in the future.
